***Fall Festival—October 15*** BAHA’s annual Fall Festival will be held at Roscomare Park (south end of Roscomare Road) on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Expect fun activities for the kids, treats for all, and good conversations with your neighbors. Residents, young or young-at-heart, are welcome to attend in costume. Those residents who attended the 2022 Fall Festival are certain to have happy memories of the event. We hope to see everyone again on October 15.
All residents of Bel Air Hills are invited, regardless of whether or not you are a member of BAHA. However, becoming a BAHA member is simple and easy by just going to our website at https://www.baha.la. A membership table will assist those with questions or who wish to join
***Speed Bumps*** According to the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), speed bumps are an effective tool to slow down speeding drivers, since most motorists will want to avoid jarring their vehicles. Unfortunately, speeding continues to be a problem on Roscomare Road. To install additional speed bumps, LADOT requires the consent of residents who live within the designated street segment of the proposed new speed bump. BAHA would like to be aware of residents on Roscomare Road who are interested in having speed bumps installed near their home. Please let us know by sending an email to [email protected]. Thank you. BAHA Traffic Committee is here to support safer streets and community concerns.
***Traffic Alert—October Events at Roscomare Road Elementary School (RRES)*** The Principal of RRES requested BAHA to advise local residents of the following school events that could impact traffic in the area:
“Please expect increased traffic and cars parked on Roscomare during the following events:
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.”
***Brush Fire Information*** At a recent meeting of the Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council, the Los Angeles Fire Department provided the following information:
In recognition of the increased danger of brush fires in our hills, the Los Angeles Fire Department has entered into an agreement with the Beverly Hills Fire Department, the National Parks Service, and Los Angeles County Fire agreeing that they all will be first responders to a brush fire in our hills, regardless of the particular jurisdiction of the fire location. This means that approximately 150 firefighters will be first on scene in the event of a fire (and more firefighters will be called in if needed). A press conference with additional details will be held in the next 30 days. Firefighters are asking for residents to do their part:
