***Cannabis Dispensary Application for 2323 Roscomare Road*** 

Recently, Bel Air Hills Association became aware that an Application for a retail cannabis dispensary license for 2323 Roscomare Road (the old Bel Air Market) had been filed. Following some preliminary fact-finding to be sure that, in fact, such an application had been filed, and that the owner of the property at 2323 Roscomare Road had entered into a lease agreement with the applicants, BAHA hired legal counsel to assist in opposing the issuance of such a license.

1. believes that the establishment of such an operation in the middle of our residential neighborhood would be a detriment to property values, reputation, and the quality of life of our community. For example, the LAPD has noticed that there have been increases in crime near such facilities. Furthermore, we have an elementary school located quite close (just feet out of the legal range that would prohibit a retail cannabis operation), with resulting foot traffic of children. BAHA, through the office of our legal counsel for this matter, has filed a notice of opposition to the license application and will continue to take steps to oppose this incompatible land use in Bel Air Hills.

If you share our concerns, there are three actions that you can take to help defeat the issuance of this license.

1. If you are not currently a member of BAHA, go to our website at https://www.baha.la and join. There is strength in numbers and the additional membership fees will help pay for legal counsel.

2. Send an email to the individual in the Department of Cannabis Regulation who is assigned to this Application, and let him know how you feel about having a retail cannabis operation in the middle of our neighborhood.
