***BAHA Membership Update*** BAHA’s 2021 membership drive is ongoing and we are continuing to receive new and returning members. An email reminder recently went out to those of you who have been members during 2019 and/or 2020, but have not yet renewed for 2021. For those of you who have still not done so, please consider this request as a gentle reminder that we sincerely hope you will renew your membership for 2021. It is so easy to do so now that our website provides for online payments--just go to https://www.baha.la/join.php. Of course, if you prefer to pay by check (minimum dues are $175), please make your check payable to Bel Air Hills Association and mail to Bel Air Hills Association, 2337 Roscomare Road, #2-228, Los Angeles, CA 90077. The Association thanks you.
***BAHA Board and Committee Members*** BAHA is continually looking for new volunteers to assist with Committee activities and to possibly serve on the Board of Directors. Pick a committee whose purposes are of interest to you. For example, if neighborhood security is a concern of yours, consider volunteering for our Security Committee. The time commitment is up to you, depending upon what you volunteer to do. Here is a brief summary of some of our committees and their purposes:
Architectural Review Committee. This Committee carries out the duties assigned to it by the various Conditions, Covenants and Restrictions set forth in the various property deeds in our area.
Membership Committee. This Committee is for the promotion and maintenance of members of BAHA.
Security Committee. This Committee is for the improvement and maintenance of the general security of the BAHA neighborhood.
Emergency Preparedness Committee. This Committee is for the promotion and encouragement of emergency preparedness among the residents of the BAHA neighborhood.
Beautification Committee. This Committee is for the development and maintenance of the landscaping at the entrances to our area.
Traffic Committee. This Committee is for working with applicable City of Los Angeles agencies to seek safety and other improvements to traffic conditions within the BAHA neighborhood as well as improvements to road conditions.
Hospitality Committee. This Committee is for the furtherance of social and cultural activities of the members of the BAHA as well as for the other residents of the BAHA neighborhood. Of course, with the Covid-19 restrictions, this Committee has not had much to do lately! We look forward to the lifting of restrictions and the resumption of this Committee’s activities.
BAHA Kids. This Committee is for the furtherance of social and cultural activities for the kids in the BAHA neighborhood. We are seeing more and more kids move into our area, and so there should be much to do when we are past Covid-19.
Joining a committee of your interest is a good way to meet neighbors, contribute to your community, and become involved with BAHA. This might even lead to an interest in joining the Board. Please think about how you can commit some time for the beautiful neighborhood in which you live, and contact us at [email protected]. Thank you.
***Emergency Preparedness Committee Update*** Our Emergency Preparedness Committee wants to be sure that all our residents are aware of a very helpful website for earthquake preparedness. Please go to https://earthquake.ca.gov to find out how to receive early warnings for earthquakes, as well as other useful information on preparedness, including signing up for periodic information updates. And from the LA Dept. of Emergency Management: "The CDC & LA County continue to urge that everyone avoid non-essential travel during this time when there are significant hot spots across the country and the world with significant risk from more infectious variants. Learn more at http://ow.ly/cId850Ei28E."

***Roscomare Road Elementary School Reopening*** Our local school will be reopening the week of April 19th. There will be morning and afternoon sessions so traffic will be impacted midday as well as at the usual start and finish times. Please use extra caution as you drive and keep your eyes open for our young scholars. Thank you.
***BAHA Street Resurfacing*** The bumpy corner near 2613 and 2619 Roscomare Road has now been scheduled to be repaved in May! Starting at the corner of Hamner and going south to 2438 Roscomare the road will be cold-milled, repaired, and then repaved. The notice indicated that 24 hours before they start they will post paper signs. Cars need to be removed from the street for this to be done, so if you are going away please do not leave a car on the street when you leave. Traffic will be allowed through, except when there is liquid asphalt being poured, but expect delays. Once the project starts it is supposed to be finished within 4 weeks. You can call 818-756-8651 or 213-847-3200 if you have questions or need accommodations.
***Nesting Birds Need Our Help*** Please help the baby birds survive – prune your trees only in Fall or Winter, not in Spring and Summer. You can follow the Fire Dept. Brush Clearance requirements and protect nesting birds at the same time. Click here for more info.
