***Halloween/Fall Festival—October 23***    Please join the BAHA community on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 3:00-5:00 pm, at the Roscomare Park/Circle, for BAHA’s annual Halloween/Fall Festival.  The Park is located at the southern end of Roscomare Road.  Kids (as well as adults!) can come in costume and enjoy games, snacks and light drinks for the whole family.

Volunteers are needed for this festive occasion.  Anyone who would like to help, is encouraged to let us know by emailing to [email protected].  Thank you.

Note to Nonmembers of BAHA:  The Festival will be a good time to join BAHA, since the membership fees that are paid then, will be good for the balance of 2022, and all of 2023.  Look for Alison at the membership table.

***Candidate Forums for Council District 5***   In September’s Newsbites, the community was informed of two September debates between the candidates for our Council District 5.  The two candidates are Sam Yebri and Katy Young Yaroslavsky.  As we noted, because the winner will serve our BAHA area, it is important for our residents to be informed about the political views of each candidate.  Please note the following information for an October debate:

The debate will be held via Zoom, on October 10th at 7:00 pm.  The Zoom link is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82740759310, or for telephone, 888-475-4499, Webinar ID:  827 4075 9310.  The Moderator will be Patty Lombard, Co-Publisher of Larchmont Buzz.  Questions for the candidates can be sent to [email protected], with the subject line: CD5 Candidate Debate.

***Chabad of West Bel Air***    BAHA would like Jewish members of the Bel Air Hills community to know that Chabad of West Bel Air is now located upstairs at 2337 Roscomare Road, where it serves the local community with Jewish family holiday programming, adult education, and children's programs. One of the youth programs offered is an after-school Hebrew School of the Arts.   For more information, please go to https://www.jewishbelair.org, or call them at 310-666-2302.

***Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project***   Here’s another reminder:  Obtain information about this project at https://www.metro.net/projects/sepulvedacorridor.  To sign up for project updates go to https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/KsXDI8K/MetroSepulveda.

***Construction Worker “Etiquette”***   The considerable amount of construction going on in the Bel Air Hills includes many construction workers.  To make it more pleasant and livable for other residents in  “construction zones,” it would be helpful if owners of the construction sites ask the construction workers, either directly or through the general contractor, for construction worker “etiquette,” like changing their parking spots occasionally, carpooling to the site when possible, never smoking outdoors, checking the street for nails before they leave each night, and so on.
